sea turtle nesting beach

Costa Rica is known worldwide for its conservation efforts, and for its protected areas. The sea turtles here are particularly considered well protected. However, their future still isn’t secured.

This richly bio-diverse area is a vital nesting habitat for four species of sea turtle: olive ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea), pacific green or black (Chelonia mydas agassizii), leatherback (Dermochelys coriacea) and hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata).

Explore the beach at night, and learn about the amazing journey of sea turtles nesting along the Golfo Dulce coast! This is a rare chance to get up close to these beautiful yet mysterious animals.

Includes: Round trip land transportation from Golfito, presentation, guided night or dawn walk on beach

Duration: 3-4 hours
